課程簡介
Viruses are simple forms of biological materials capable of doing extraordinary tasks from causing epidemics outbreaks of infectious diseases to shaping the genetic makeup of life forms, and to being engineered as nano-drugs for treating difficult diseases and making rechargeable batteries to power your electronics. This project-based course will take you on a multi-disciplinary journey to discover the intricate relationship of viruses with the human world from the standpoint of evolution, safeguarding the public health, new drug development, novel industrial applications of viruses, and even 3D-printing your own virus. The course brings you to rediscover the definition of a virus and its intelligent design, and its impact on the future of human life.
